Family Of Origin

For people who have benefited from counseling- How did you go about finding the “right” counselor for you?

Some are better than others, as with any profession. Looking for help with family of origin issues, divorce issues, and suicide of family member issues.

I would go for the counselor that would not direct your life. The counselor should see bigger things, such as how a certain divorce or decision made would affect family, kids, and people around us. The counselor should NEVER tell anyone what to do, but do their best to help them make their own choice, inform them of what is going to happen if a certain decision is made. That’s a model counselor.
